Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampire Series) by Rachel Caine

This series is Fang-tastic. Claire Danvers sixteen year old accepted for college early didn't know what she was getting herself into when she agreed to go to texas prairie instead of her college of choice because her parents thought she was to young to go too far. What they didn't know was the choice they made her go to was less safe. This is the first in a fifteenth book series and what a brilliant series it is. A new problem in each book, you will not get bored once. (Not once I tell ya...)

This starts with Claire's washing being pinched out of the machine in the dorms (god damn it) then she backchats the college bully Monica (main bitch, bitch) who then in turn beats her and tells her she will not being seeing the night through. Claire has had enough already so when she sees the ad for the Glass House she can't help but go for it and that is the start of a beautiful friendship between the four main people in the books... Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael. (I mean they have that sort of true friend dynamic going on)
Vampires roam the streets every night and if you ain't got a bracelet stating you're protected by one of the vamps, you can bet you are game for them sink some fangs into. Claire has to learn this right from the beginning. She ends up sucked (excuse the pun) right into the vamps world because of the founder Amelie (head vamp) and a book she finds. This Vamp even goes as far as bringing Claire's parents to town.
Rachel Caine builds worlds so fun, scary, exciting and lovely all wrapped into one. I mean she has literally created a whole town and everyone in it has a majorly different personality (this is beyond great, the planning it must have took *sigh*) If you like Vampires (not the twilight kind, but also a fan of YA) then this is for you. Brilliant teenage drama-cross-action-cross-bloodsucking.
For a start in a huge series this could not have been better! (freaking love it) I think if I could actually pick a fav this would be it. Glass houses. 5 frigging stars from me.
Once again me and my verbal diarrhea had to be stopped before it had started or I think I might just have started typing the book out word for word. Happy Reading *WAVE*
