Devil's Bargain by Rachel Caine

Okay, so I've read all the morganville books by this author and I have to say I love her. (This book is more for Adults I'd say but there isn't anything that bad in it, so young adults could read aswell if you're into this sort of thing....) I love the fact this book is about something so different and yet she still nails it "HELL YERH!" (Think Wanted (the film where peoples' names come up and they have to kill them) cross Kim Possible (cartoon spy with a techno geek boss and sidekick best friend)...) So Jazz (the main) is one of them drink whiskey alone in a bar kind of detectives (I admire this, how a person can walk into a bar alone and not care about sitting with their own company.) I also love detective programmes (Miss Marple, Diagnosis: Murder, Poirot and sherlock holmes) although this was my first book do to with them.... It's not just detectiveness it is sort of about fate (making it happen/stopping it happening and so on) and the love interest (James) ain't that bad either (win, win) Jazz is a Badass and her business partner  Lucia is an even bigger Badass! Together they are thrown into this thing where they have to be somewhere to stop something or the other way around. The Cross Society send them red letters for every case they have (it's all kinda crazy, but a great change for detectives.) If they do this they will give them the means to help save Jazz's friend (he has been locked up for something he didn't do.) Then she gets on their bad side 'uh-oh'.... If you're into fate and a bit of action this is definitely for you. It's kinda strange and at first they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into but if you like this book you'll love the next although that is written from the partners prospective. Give it a go.
