Half Bad by Sally Green

This book starts off with a Shakespeare's, Hamlet quote. 'There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking it makes it so.' This is a really good start. most verses, quotes or poems at the start of books do not have anything to do with what is actually happening. This does. Nathan is half white/half black witch. His mother being a white, his father being a black. Who is constantly accused of being black from the start of his life.

In the opening Nathan is in a cage. Literally locked in a cage by a white witch he must work day in, day out and run miles with a wristband on that contains acid. If he runs to far this band breaks open spilling the acid over him. At this point in the novel you are Nathan, Nathan is you. I thought she wrote this well, but at first I was a bit confused but got where she was going after the first page. He tries to escape. It do not work.

Legacy: An Anthology by Adria J. Cimino and others

Although this is not paticularly fantasy I thought I'd spread the word...
I started this review planning on giving each short story a separate review but it ended up to long for my own liking. I equally don't know how to review this with out doing each story separately, here's to trying.....

The eternal ones by Kirsten Miller

What if love refused to die? I love the whole concept of two people reincarnated over and over again and every time something or someone is there waiting to mess it up. So do you give up? (No never) most lives you find each other, but some you do not. Imagine falling in love over and over again with your soul mate/true love! Most girls dream of this.
So basically Haven Moore, a seventeen year old has visions of another life in another time. Her name constance, whose love for Ethan ended tragically. Her grandmother say's magazines are satan's work, So when she comes across a boy who's famous who reminds her of Ethan, her friend tell's her who he is. Rich guy, Iain Morrow. Haven needs to know if he is her soul mate. She travels to New York.
A love affair begins.....

New to this.....

Hi guys (or should I say, anyone who may or may not reading this) *Awkward wave* I just wanted to say, I'm new to all this. I have not ever really reviewed anything until the few posts before this. Other than one amazon product I hadn't even bought (just because they were ripping people off) but technically that didn't even get posted as it was refused *Laughing inside*....
I read anything that comes my way good or bad, I can not stand to leave a book unread *hmph*
None of my friends read (because they are extremely lame) so really I made this as a place to vent after a bloody good book or cry after a rubbish one. *Slanted smile* Hope I ain't doing to bad a job of it of course if I am you ain't got to read it ;)
Have a good day yall!! xx

Guards! Guards! (Discworld) by Terry Pratchett

This was the third Discworld novel I read. First being Wyrd Sisters, second being The Colour of Magic. Don't ask, I like a bit of non-order. From the first pages mentioning the night watch I fell in love with vimes and his world, from a few more pages in, I fell in love with the watch. Thus starting my secret love affair with every watch novel that i came into contact with! What a great start for the gang. You get vimes, nobby nobbs, colon, carrot the last lost king, dragons, lots of dragons, fat, jolly, strong women and the patrician... So maybe i'm biased but did i mention Vimes? THIS BOOK WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!! Any fantasy lover will love these books, all of them, every last one. Not one creature goes unnoticed by Terry Pratchett. He writes like words were made for his use alone. If it was a crime to be as intelligently funny as this writer is/was, he would of been hung a long time a go, because as we all know time is a funny thing with loopholes. I now (after reading his full works) consider these the standards by which i judge all books. READ THEM ALL, ALL OF YOU, RIGHT AWAY.............
                                                                 THE END!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Reviewed this... Poooof review magically did not save! Making me extremely moody! Read the prequel trilogy, William Herondale was a gem (excuse the lame ass pun), Tess was great. Amazing series. So I then picked up these.....
Because demon slaying is addictive, witty characters are lovable and badasses are fun. This book was the best out of six, I fell in love all over again with the shadow world. What I don't get is How can a prequel be better than the original?

Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth

I don't know why people compare this to the hunger games. They have for a start two things in common - A female lead and a horrible government. I'm pretty sure they are not forced into an arena and made to kill each other as entertainment. maybe i'm wrong? The rulers are corrupt yes. But still they do it because they think it's right, not for enjoyment. I enjoyed this book to a certain degree.
All your life, you know one thing. Factions. When you turn 16 you must chose to stay or leave for another, but never look back. So what happens when you find out what you knew was a lie?

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Okay so this gets a 3.5 maybe a 4 from me. There is something about writers that can set the whole book in nearly the same place all the way through with out it getting repetitive or boring.
The cave in this book really does it for me. I now have this thing for any books written like this one!! Interesting plot, let's face it better than her other book series.
The aliens have invaded, what, where? That's just my neighbour! This could happen, I like that. It makes you think 'my god damn neighbour could be one of these. Lets go live in a cave/underground cavern'.

Dangerous Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

All I have to say is what the hell happened to Ridley Duchannes? Badass caster with a lolly pop! She was the best thing about Beautiful Creatures (okay maybe not the best thing, but one of them.)

Link done my head in all the way through. These two were my favourites (my guilty pleasures) and right now I say give me Lennox Gates any day at least he might liven rid up again! Link spent the whole time trying to change who he fell in love with *boreoff*

The new additional characters were fun, some of the time. I was left not really knowing who they are so looking forward to finding out.

Even after all this I still kept reading it. I love the caster world. I also kept praying for a bit of mean rid! Hopefully the next brings it out in her. I do not want to read about crying again!

The end though left me ripping my hair out and wanting the next book in my hands. FIRE cliffhanger!

If you love casters you know you have to read this because you just can't help yourself! If you don't know what they are read beautiful creatures first....

The Raven Boy's by Maggie Stiefvater

I was in for it from the moment I read the first line....'Blue Sargent had forgotten how many times she'd been told that she would kill her true love.' Maggie Stiefvater is a sucker for these lines, I knew from the start I would not put this book down. God damn it I was meant to go out with friends, oh well (kinda thing) and as books go it only gets better as you read!
I want Blue's family as my own. My mum reads tarots amazingly, but a full family under one roof WOW. I love her house, I love the way they are together, basically I love it all.
St Mark's Eve, Church yard, ghosts of the not yet dead. OMG! YES! Blue can see a boy's spirit though she can't see the others.... She asked, "will you tell me your name?"................. "Gansey", he said....... "Is that all?" she whispered.
Gansey closed his eyes. "That's all there is."
"There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St Mark's Eve, Blue. Either you're his true love," Neeve said, "or you kill him." ..... Maggie you are trying to kill me!! She is going to kill her true love. Death by kiss. What!
Then the boys are introduced. Gansey, Adam, Ronan and Noah. They remind me of stand by me. That kind of innocence but not innocence at the same time. They know what they are doing and nothing is going to stop them. I love the wildness of it all. Boys being boys plain and simple. So cool when someone gets it so spot on.
I know from half way what I want Gansey to be to Blue. Adam with Blue just annoys me. I love Adam but just as who he is.
You find yourself wanting more Ronan and I feel you need more Noah to really love him.
The group love each other and that is brilliant to be a part of, even if you are just reading. GO AND BUY THESE BOOKS RIGHT AWAY!!
None of my friends read. Which makes me depressed, I've been dying to tell someone to read The Raven Boy's for agesss.....
