Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice
Asylum by Madeleine Roux
Now my thirteen year old self would have had the hairs up on the back of her neck. She would of kept peeking up the dark passage (while reading by touch light, with the bedroom door open)
As it is, my twenty three year old self disagrees. Never mind that though, because over all I can see where she was going with this.
Basically Dan crawford goes to a summer programme at a college/old asylum.

The Curse Keepers by Denise Grover Swank
In short there is a curse. Not on Ellie. Each member of her family will know the curse. Her father passed it down to her. They are the curse keepers. There is another family who are the second. There are only two curse keepers. One from each family. When the two meet and touch the curse is lifted, the gates to hell open and with it and well work that out for yourself.....
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Maggie is a killer for these lines to start off books. Tell me that have not got your interest, go on, I dare you!
Sean is on the beach with his father, today is race day. The beach is never safe, today it is dangerous. This is where you learn of the capiall uisce. The water horses. Deadly (meat eaters, including their riders). The men of the village race them, on race day. Sean takes to them naturally. Not that he will ride. His father rides a red stallion. Then dies by the teeth of a grey. Sean watches from the cliff.
I don't think often of my father's strung out body through the reddening surf. Instead I remember him as he was before the race: afraid. I won't make the same mistake.

The Dark Heroine by Abigail Gibbs
Abandon by Meg Cabot
Then it describes persephone being took by hades and the narrator (Pierce) telling you it's just a myth. What happened to her, is not. So on, so on.
She then add... So take my advice: Whatever you do - Don't blink.
This page drew me in slightly, I wanted to know what happens to her when she blinks.

Devil's Bargain by Rachel Caine
Okay, so I've read all the morganville books by this author and I have to say I love her. (This book is more for Adults I'd say but there isn't anything that bad in it, so young adults could read aswell if you're into this sort of thing....) I love the fact this book is about something so different and yet she still nails it "HELL YERH!" (Think Wanted (the film where peoples' names come up and they have to kill them) cross Kim Possible (cartoon spy with a techno geek boss and sidekick best friend)...) So Jazz (the main) is one of them drink whiskey alone in a bar kind of detectives (I admire this, how a person can walk into a bar alone and not care about sitting with their own company.) I also love detective programmes (Miss Marple, Diagnosis: Murder, Poirot and sherlock holmes) although this was my first book do to with them.... It's not just detectiveness it is sort of about fate (making it happen/stopping it happening and so on) and the love interest (James) ain't that bad either (win, win) Jazz is a Badass and her business partner Lucia is an even bigger Badass! Together they are thrown into this thing where they have to be somewhere to stop something or the other way around. The Cross Society send them red letters for every case they have (it's all kinda crazy, but a great change for detectives.) If they do this they will give them the means to help save Jazz's friend (he has been locked up for something he didn't do.) Then she gets on their bad side 'uh-oh'.... If you're into fate and a bit of action this is definitely for you. It's kinda strange and at first they have no idea what they have gotten themselves into but if you like this book you'll love the next although that is written from the partners prospective. Give it a go.
Splintered by A. G. Howard
This is technically for young adults. I seem to own a lot of these haha. This is a take on Alice in Wonderland and a good one at that. Alyssa Gardener is Alice Liddell's great-great-great-Granddaughter (or so she thinks ;)!!!). Madness has runs through the family ever since Alice. Alyssa's mum is in an asylum and Morpheus (the caterpillar/moth) keeps coming to try to take her to wonderland. Plants and insects talk to her. And so on. Then she ends up in wonderland *fist pump* (come on... Who wouldn't want to go there?) All the usual characters are in this but with a twist. I thought -once I got past the beginning and more into the wonder- that A. G. Howard done a marvellous job. She has made a famous story her own and rocked it (my opinion). I never seen the end coming or how much I would love Morpheus and Alice. My only problem was Jeb (the friend/crush) it felt like he got in my way *sigh*(maybe you will like him...) I would say it's definitely an amazing twist on the original so yerh if you're in the age group or even older you may enjoy this read. Don't give up (like I went to) it totally starts to kick in, see I don't even want to ruin it for you ;)....... And just look at that beautiful cover (don't you love it!!!)

Bear with me....
I have read hundreds of books that I will eventually write about here. I would have loads up already but I have quite a few books that I want to read at the moment, so I tend to read in my spare time instead of more blogging (dreadful I know ;) ) But on the plus when I get around to doing them all and the juicy new ones I'll post in between, there will indeed be enough to keep anyone occupied for a year or two (slight exaggeration, oh alright HUGE one) In any case I have more to come up shortly. Obviously I have my monthly read so each time I post one of them I'll also post two or three I've already read...... I know I'm a nightmare *smile* (sorry about that) and I know one minute I write short details like hardly anything at all, next minute I write practically the whole novel in short and sometime I don't pay much attention to what I write at all and then have to go over it eight million times changing all the mistakes I didn't notice I had made *forehead palm smack* Anyway happy reading :D *fling your arms out the socket wave*
Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices book one) by Cassandra Clare
Enter, Will Herondale the almighty cocky bastard (How I love him from the very first sentence he speaks) who has managed to get into the demons lair. *Warrior cry* and finds Tessa stowed away in a bedroom. Let the saving commence. Welcome to the world of Shadowhunters.
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Aria is a dweller, dwellers live in mountain type things really. They have not been outside since the Aether storms started. They have these eye patches that are their world. Realms (this is cool) (well to a certain extent) and well basically crap immune systems.
Soren can hack anything. Even the dwellers systems. He take Aria and her friend along with his two friends to a shutdown pod that ain't protected. All hell breaks loose. Soren goes crazy, I mean CRAZY crazy spreads a fire. Everyone's trapped.
Forgotten Suns by Judith Tarr
I really love fantasy and science fiction and this just hit all the right spots, all of them!
A girl (Aisha) who is downright crazy... A guy (Rama) who is downright crazy.... And an Aunt (Khalida) who is downright crazy.... I love it. All of it. Every character was something else. Brilliant. I got into the book from the start. The girl blows up a cave in Nevermore (I want to live here), something is let loose. WHAT! YES!! This something is Rama. I love Rama, he is wild. Together they travel through worlds and eventually dimensions trying to find where his people are. Do they succeed? Hell yeah, with a big bang here and there..... I actually want there to be another book, which surprised me. I've read a lot of trilogies but mainly it's because I can't stand a book not completely finished. But this beauty, Judith Tarr please, please, please write more :D!! You should almost certainly read this. what ever genre you're into. It is certainly something to think about. I like SOMETHING to think about. I love every 'what if?' that is ever written. Go and find yourself a copy of this right away. That is an order from the Corps.... Not that you will know who they are until you read, so make sure you do ;) (This might seem rushed or whatever, I was just tooooo excited)
